The Red Dot Award: Product Design is the revered international seal of outstanding design quality. The prizes, created in 1955, are given annually at a ceremony in Essen, Germany. This is an award that rewards the international excellence of products and designs from different fields.
The innovating Flat-5XL BorjaJET roof tile has been recognized by the jury as one of the best products of the year, for its innovation and high quality. The international jury comprises experienced experts from different disciplines and has been convening for more than 60 years in order to select the year’s best designs.
Flat-5XL BorjaJET – THE REVOLUTION of the tile sector
Flat-5XL it’s a versatile ceramic roofing tile. A product suitable for fitting both on the roof and in ventilated facade systems giving a high performance in installation (5,4 tiles/sq.m.). Manufactured in plaster moulds and roller kiln, we obtain a very low water absorption product (less than 3%) with perfect flatness and very high flexural resistance.

Experience and expertise get straight to the point
The Red Dot Award is one of the largest design competitions in the world. In 2019, designers and manufacturers from 55 countries entered more than 5,500 products in the competition. During an adjudication process that spans several days, they try out the products, discuss them and ultimately reach a well-founded decision regarding the design quality of the entries.
True to the motto “In search of good design and innovation”, their assessment focuses on criteria such as the level of innovation, functionality, formal quality, longevity and ergonomics.
